The Austrian tops the 3Tre after the race first half ahead of Alexander Khoroshilov Luca Aerni and Manfred Moelgg who clocked the fourth timing preceding Henrik Kristoffersen. Second run at 20:45 CET
Madonna di Campiglio’s 64th 3Tre finally saw some action tonight as the Audi FIS World Cup men’s night slalom first run was completed. Setting the pace after the challenging first run was Austrian Marcel Hirscher, the main favourite, who came down the famous Canalone Miramonti slope wearing bib number three.
Nipping at the heels of Marcel Hirscher are Russian Alexander Khoroshilov, 0.23 seconds behind and Swiss Luca Aerni 0.37 seconds off the pace. Italian Manfred Moelgg, was fourth with +0.44 ahead of the last two editions’ winner, Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen, +0.49, actually at the fifth spot. “Tonight I’m not having a good feeling with the snow and I am quite unhappy about my first run. I must do much better later on”, Kristoffersen explained.
The gap was more significant for Stefano Gross, third placed last year, 0.85 seconds behind after the first run but still in the mix for a podium spot.
The second run begins at 20.45 CET with fifteen athletes within one-second range, great emotions still to come on Canalone Miramonti.
