Palermo is set to welcome the second fixture of Madonna di Campiglio FIS World Cup Night Slalom’s promotional tour on on Saturday, October 20 at the Mercato Excelsior Auditorium
It is a downhill through the whole Italian peninsula: moving from Madonna di Campiglio, 3Tre is now heading to Palermo, reaching the Southern point of the 3Tre on Tour, the long promotional tour of the Italian Classic Alpine Ski Night Slalom. The 65th edition of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup event on the Canalone Miramonti is taking place on Saturday, December 22 (first run at 3.45PM CET, second run at 6.45PM CET), and Palermo represents one of the most prestigious stops of the tour that leads up to the much anticipated night event in Madonna di Campiglio. Palermo and 3Tre meet in a fascinating match between the 2018 Italian Capital of Culture and the most historic ski competition in Italy, as it belongs in the FIS Ski World Cup since the very first edition of the circuit in 1967.
3Tre, Madonna di Campiglio and Palermo give life to a special evening on Saturday, October 20 at Mercato Excelsior Auditorium (7.00PM CET). Past and present of 3Tre will have the floor in Palermo, with Michele Cereghini, Mayor of Pinzolo, and Lorenzo Conci, President of 3Tre Committee, as well as 3Tre "historian" Paolo Luconi Bisti, who will present the event’s legacy through exclusive photos and videos, all the way to Marcel Hirscher’s resounding victory in 2017.
Another big attraction of the Mercato Excelsior night will be the “Crystal Globe”, the trophy awarded to the FIS Ski World Cup winner, travelling with 3Tre Committee since the opening stage of 3Tre on Tour in Tuscany.
“Sicily is geographically the farthest region from Madonna di Campiglio, yet we can feel the passion and the proximity of Sicilian people coming all winters, when they choose Madonna di Campiglio and the Brenta Dolomites for their holidays" - Loredana Bonazza, 3Tre Committee Communication Manager and 3Tre on Tour promoter, explains. “It was one of the main motivations behind this event in the 2018 Italian Capital of Culture. We are hoping to bring our little contribution to this very special year of events, by bringing the 65-year-long magic of 3Tre all the way down to Sicily."
