The Italian National Slalom Team guided by Stefano Costazza, as well as Myhrer and Hargin’s Sweden are in Madonna di Campiglio on December 13 and 14 as key setup for the night slalom of December 22nd
Nine days to the big night in Campiglio, and you can feel the excitement. The whole town is preparing for December 22nd 3Tre, while the Canalone Miramonti slope already looks in very good shape: under Adriano Alimonta’s care, the slope preparation is already advanced, and the snow will be perfect as usual for the two runs of next Thurday’s night slalom (1st run 17.45, 2nd run 20.45, tickets on www.3trecampiglio.it and at Funivie Campiglio’s ticket offices).
But in Campiglio they have more than just World Cup atmosphere: they also got World Cup athletes. On Monday December 12th, the Italy’s and Sweden’s National slalom teams have arrived in the Pearl of the Dolomites, to train on the Canalone Miramonti on Tuesday and Wednesday as setup for the upcoming 3Tre fixture.
In particular, the Italian team guided by trainer Stefano Costazza is expected to make a first training on Tuesday night at 17.30 under the spotlights – so to reproduce the same visibility conditions they will experience in a few days in the crowded Miramonti – and a second one at 8 AM on Wednesday. Taking part to the camp are seven athletes, the most likely to take the start for the Azzurri on December 22nd: Giuliano Razzoli, Stefano Gross, Patrick Thaler, Manfred Moelgg, Tommaso Sala, Riccardo Tonetti and Andrea Ballerin. In those runs they will be sharing the gates with the Swedish slalom specialists, starting with Andrè Myhrer and Mattias Hargin.
“The slope is very good conditions, with a good solid snow,” trainer Stefano Costazza explained, “there is definitely room to make some very good work. We won’t obviously ski on the same line of the race, but I sll believe these two days will give us some valuable indications in the view of 3Tre.”
Meantime, tomorrow night – Wednesday December 14th at 6 PM – at the Gallerie di Piedicastello in Trento, a preview of the talk show SciVolando con Stile – organized in collaboration between 3Tre e Marcialonga – will be held.
In attendance at the event will be 3Tre and Marcialonga’s Presidents, Lorenzo Conci and Angelo Corradini, and former World Cup athletes such as Carlo Senoner, Franco Nones and Ivo Mahlknecht.
