In the Audi venue in Brescia, Madonna di Campiglio and the OC of January 8th Night Slalom presented the initiatives for a more sustainable future. Giorgio Rocca and Ivano Edalini guest stars of the night
Ski, World Cup and more. The journey of 3Tre on Tour reached Brescia on Wednesday November 20th, a night in which sports – represented by two ski former champions, were joined by the themes of environment and sustainability.
Audi Saottini in Brescia provided the perfect setting, as the brand from Ingolstadt, title sponsor of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and strategic partner of Madonna di Campiglio – Pinzolo – Val Rendena, is at the forefront in the electric mobility branch on the World scale. Attending the event, along with 3Tre President Lorenzo Conci, Madonna di Campiglio – Pinzolo – Val Rendena Tourist Board General Director Matteo Bonapace, Funivie Campiglio General Director Francesco Bosco, and Pinzolo Municipality Assessor Monica Bonomini, were two past winners of 3Tre: Giorgio Rocca, the latest Italian winner to date back in 2005, and Ivano Edalini, originary from the Brescia area, who in 1986 in Madonna di Campiglio claimed his sole World Cup win.
3Tre’s visit at Audi Saottini, welcomed by over 200 guests, provided the ideal occasion to speak about the electric mobility projects shared by Madonna di Campiglio – Pinzolo – Val Rendena Tourist Board and Audi, starting with the 3Tre on Tour itself. Since the beginning of the Tour, the committee’s journey was powered by a full-electric Audi e-tron, with the goal of minimizing the environmental impact of the travels.
“In 2018, at the International Conference on the UNESCO Global Geoparks in Madonna di Campiglio, Audi announced its determination to invest on sustainable mobility in our venue – told Madonna di Campiglio-Pinzolo-Val Rendena General Director Matteo Bonapace. “We have placed sustainable mobility among our key strategic goal, on a path we have started pursuing with the development of a new traffic regulation in Madonna di Campiglio, and with 14 Enel-X charging stations to be installed in our village in 2020.”
An ambitious roadmap that will also count on the support and guidance of the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park, already at the forefront in terms of sustainable mobility.
In addition, the visitors of Madonna di Campiglio will be given by Audi the opportunity to discover their hybrid and electric technology, with the Audi Test Drive activities exclusively focused on these innovative models.
The goal of sustainability is shared and supported by 3Tre Committee, as evidenced by President Lorenzo Conci’s words: “Apart from the technical value of the event, we know that the extraordinary context our race takes place in is one of our major assets. We owe a lot to the environment, and that’s why we feel the urge to commit: in our sport, getting rid of plastic is possible, only through a thorough roadmap and a multi-year process that we are getting started in these months.”
Another significant news for the venue came from Assessor Monica Bonomini of the Pinzolo Municipality: “From the next school year, an external plexus of the “Toniolo” Sports Hight School of Bolzano will open in Madonna di Campiglio, giving to high-level sportsmen and sportswomen the opportunity to study proficiently while pursuing their careers in sports.”
Meantime, snow keeps following on the Brenta Dolomites, and from November 23rd the cableways will be open every day.
“Our winter season is now underway – told Funivie Campiglio General Director Francesco Bosco – and these heavy snowfalls bode well for a very good one: once again, we have worked hard to raise the bar and improve the offer for those who choose to enjoy the pleasure of skiing in Madonna di Campiglio and in our ski area as a whole.”
That’s the perfect atmosphere to wait for the d-day of 3Tre, the Audi FIS World Cup night slalom scheduled for Wednesday January 8th (1st run 17.45; 2nd run 20.45), preceded by a very rich and entertaining eve with the public bib draw in Piazza Sissi.
