The 3Tre on Tour stopped in Treviso, along with the venue of the 2021 World Championships. President Lorenzo Conci: “There shouldn’t be rivalries between excellences of the Italian ski. Every synergy is valuable for the good of our sport.”
Madonna di Campiglio and Cortina: possibly the most exclusive destination of Italian winter tourism, certainly two important venues for competitive and non-competitive ski, often considered as rivals for the “Queen of Dolomites” throne. That’s the reason why the events matching the two brands together was so unique, on Tuesday December 5th in Treviso, at la Ghirada sports complex.
Organizing the meeting between 3Tre and the Cortina’s 2021 World Champs (now also in charge of the Women’s World Cup event) was Treviso’s FISI Committee President Roberto Visentin, who matched the committees, the local fans and ski clubs. This was the 14th event of the 3Tre on Tour, now nearing its finish as the d-day of Friday December 22nd – when the Canalone Miramonti slope will light up for the Audi FIS World Cup Night Slalom – is getting closer and closer.
Representing 3Tre was President Lorenzo Conci, joined by Cortina 2021’s Head of Accreditation Giorgio Gaspari. Conci highlighted the importance of shying away of local rivalries, and open to collaboration among big realities of the FIS World Cup: “Madonna di Campiglio and Cortina have similar touristic targets, so a certain degree of competition is in the cards, but this has nothing to do with the sports side. 3Tre and Cortina share a long-time history in the FIS World Cup, in the Men’s and Women’s circuit respectively, and the success of both events is the goal we have to hope for, as it contributes to the growth of our movement.”
“This year,” prosegue Conci, “we will host at 3Tre a study group of Cortina 2021, as they have asked the opportunity to come and see the organization of a slalom event: we have agreed with enthusiasm, in the spirit of collaboration that we try to promote, also with our 3Tre on Tour.”
The 3Tre on Tour will live two more events this week, on December 7th in Pinzolo, at the Malga Cioca, and on December 9th in Andalo, with the 3Tre guest of the opening of a new Montura Alpstation.
