A magic evening at Palazzo della Loggia where Madonna di Campiglio’s event fascinated with its history and plenty of former top-skiers: Giorgio Rocca, Ivano Edalini and “Dada” Merighetti
With five weeks to the Ski Alpine FIS World Cup’s Night Slalom, the 3Tre reinforced its feeling with the city of Brescia. Yesterday, Friday 17 November, at Palazzo della Loggia, a large attendance of ski fans and media representatives gave a hearty welcome to the “3Tre on Tour” promotional stage. The Mayor of Brescia Emilio del Bono did the honors while the Organizing Committee President Lorenzo Conci commended the contribution in promoting Madonna di Campiglio and its exciting slalom to be held on December 22nd.
Proud of its past idols joining the special evening - Ivano Edalini, 3Tre winner in 1986 on the Canalone Miramonti’s slope, and Daniela Merighetti – Brescia displayed a strong link with the alpine ski and Madonna di Campiglio. “I’ll never forget my 3Tre victory – Edalini explained – because I really felt at home that time. Everything is special there: the place, the public… you don’t need to watch the screen once your race is over, listening the people shouting is enough to realize if your performance was good or bad”.
Exactly 30 years after Alberto Tomba’s first win, Campiglio will celebrate “La Bomba” with many initiatives, with hopes to eventually celebrate another Italian winner although. “I also wish this happening – Giorgio Rocca, 3Tre testimonial and last Italian winner in 2005, said in Brescia - . It would be amazing in the Olympic year”.
