The successful event in Rome opened the now-traditional promotional tour of Madonna di Campiglio’s Classic: a successful formula to meet and involve the public
For the third consecutive year, 3Tre moves out of the Trentino’s borders to make its unique tour of Italy. The opening event in Rome on Saturday October 15th inaugurated the 3Tre Tour, the promotional tournee of the 63rd edition of the slalom Classic, now into the final two months before December 22nd.
Over the next 60 days, the 3Tre Committee will take part in 20 appointments, meetings and occasions to speak about the World Cup Classic – and everything that surrounds it – to different audiences. Expositions, city events, international festivals, meetings with the local FISI committees, sports events, TV and radio moments: with the 3Tre Tour, the event comes down from mountains to open itself to the people – either ski fans or not.
A big commitment, made in full cooperation with the event’s partners like the Madonna di Campiglio Pinzolo Val Rendena Tourism Board, Funivie Madonna di Campiglio (cableway company), and the Pinzolo and Tre Ville municipalities. A significant effort, but a fruitful one: since its return in the FIS World Cup calendar, 3Tre always welcomed a growing number of people on the Canaloni Miramonti, grazing the 16.000 persons threshold last year. Following the slope interventions that widened the parterre area, and increased the “Tribuna 3Tre” stands capacity to over 1.000 people, the Madonna di Campiglio’s night slalom looks to confirm its growing trend.
“Our event’s potential can’t be actually expressed unless we make something to explain it to the people – expressed 3Tre Committee’s President Lorenzo Conci, - because nowadays preparing a perfect slope and bringing here the top champions around is not enough for an event to be a success. You must factor the technical result, the public result, the communicational impact, and also the event’s effect on the territory, and the benefits it is able to generate on the medium and long term: the 3Tre Tour is an important asset of our strategy in pursuing such goals.”
Modena, Parma, Milan, Brescia, Florence, Trento are only some of the locations of the 3Tre Tour stages: some of them will be attended also by Giorgio Rocca, testimonial of the Madonna di Campiglio’s slalom, and last Italian in time to win the World Cup event on the Canalone Miramonti in 2005. “With the 3Tre Tour, over the years we have established a number of new relationships, that we have nurtured and that will help us to promote and strengthen our event as well as the Madonna di Campiglio brand in the years to come,” said Loredana Bonazza, Secretary General of the 3Tre Committee and chief responsible of the 3Tre Tour. “This tour is the fruit of great teamwork of all the members of the 3Tre Committee.”
The upcoming fixtures will take the 3Tre Tour to Emilia Romagna: on Friday October 28th, the 3Tre Committee will be in the Parma’s city hall at 10.30 for a dedicated press conference. The next day, October 29th, 3Tre will take part in the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the FIS World Cup at Skipass, the international winter sports exposition taking place in Modena from October 29th to November 1st.
