The new date officialized at the FIS Council in Cancun. The Italian Alpine Ski celebrates twelve World Cup fixtures in the upcoming season
Photos are the best possible statement of 2015 3Tre’s success: over 15.000 people on the Canalone Miramonti on December 22nd speak for themselves, establishing the Madonna di Campiglio classic among the big fixtures of the FIS World Cup.
The 2016 FIS Council in Cancun (Mexico) confirmed 3Tre among the event of 2019/2020 World Cup, adding a new date – January 8th, 2020 – to those already officially communicated December 22nd 2016, 2017 and 2018. Exceptionally, the Canalone Miramonti slalom will be run in January, just after the one in Zagreb, to avoid overlapping with the Christmas festivities.
Meantime, the Italian Alpine Ski celebrates no less than twelve World Cup races in 2016-2017, in seven different venues: Madonna di Campiglio, Val Gardena, Alta Badia e Santa Caterina Valfurva for men, Sestriere, Plan de Corones and Cortina for women. “The growth in importance of our movement helps all of us, and the Comitato 3Tre is always happy to see the number of Italian organizers increase,” – 3Tre Committee’s President Lorenzo Conci stated. “Our sport needs new active skiers and fans, and twelve World Cup events will certainly help in leading more people into our World.”
