3Tre lands at Verona Airport: new Valerio Catullo partnership kicks off 3Tre on Tour

October 23, 2026

The 3Tre Organising Committee and Verona Villafranca “Valerio Catullo” Airport unveiled their new partnership on Friday, October 23rd. The announcement was made at a press conference in the airport’s new departures terminal, which also hosted the first stop of the 3Tre on Tour, the promotional tour building momentum towards the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Night Slalom.

The 73rd edition of the Trentino event will take place in exactly two months, on Wednesday, December 23rd, on the Canalone Miramonti slope in Madonna di Campiglio. As part of the partnership, digital screens throughout the new terminal will showcase 3Tre over the next two months, while a billboard outside the airport will promote Italy’s longest-running Alpine ski classic.

A member of the SAVE Group since 2014, Verona Airport welcomed more than four million passengers for the first time in 2025. It is a key gateway for the Triveneto area of north-eastern Italy and for the many visitors travelling to Trentino. Completed in February 2026, the new terminal has expanded the departures area from 24,840 to 36,370 square metres.

"Valerio Catullo Airport is a strategic gateway for those travelling to our region and its mountains,” said 3Tre President Lorenzo Conci. “Bringing 3Tre into the airport allows us to reach travellers at a key transit point that, for many, is their first introduction to Trentino and its outstanding attractions. 3Tre has deep roots in its home region, but initiatives like this help us raise its profile well beyond our provincial borders, while also highlighting the importance of the infrastructure that connects our region with the rest of the world.”

“We are delighted to have hosted the first stop of 3Tre on Tour. It is also a personal pleasure for me, as I have long been connected to Madonna di Campiglio. We share one fundamental element: the pista’ – the runway at the heart of every airport and, of course, the piste at the heart of skiing. Catullo has long been a gateway to Trentino: travellers arriving in Verona on their way to the Dolomites are welcomed by the words ‘Trentino, Gateway to the Dolomites’. From December to March, we handle charter flights carrying skiers from Northern and Eastern Europe, processing up to 2,000 ski bags a day. From March 28th, with ITA Airways operating three daily flights to Rome Fiumicino, Trentino will be even more easily connected to the rest of the world,” said Alessandra Bonetti, CEO of Verona Villafranca “Valerio Catullo” Airport (SAVE Group).

Among those attending the event in Verona were Lorenzo Conci, President of the 3Tre Organising Committee; Tullio Serafini, President of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board; Alessandra Bonetti, CEO of Verona Villafranca “Valerio Catullo” Airport; Mauro Bonvecchio, President of FISI Trentino; Roberto Visentin, President of FISI Veneto; and Andrea Busignani, Chief Marketing Officer of the 3Tre Organising Committee and Pinzolo’s Councillor for Major Events.

Representatives of Scaligera Basket Verona, one of the region’s leading sports clubs, were also present. The basketball team has ties to the Municipality of Pinzolo, which hosts its pre-season training camp. Paolo Luconi Bisti, custodian of the race’s historical legacy, was also in attendance.
Drawing on contributions from Luconi Bisti and sports journalist Lorenzo Fabiano, the event revisited the roots of a race that will celebrate several milestones this December: the 50th anniversary of the all-Italian podium in 1976, when the late Fausto Radici won ahead of Piero Gros and Paolo De Chiesa; the 60th anniversary of the Alpine Ski World Cup, established in the 1966–67 season, with 3Tre on the calendar since the very first edition; and 70 years since the race first came to Madonna di Campiglio, after its early editions at various venues across Trentino.

Alongside its collaboration with Verona Villafranca “Valerio Catullo” Airport, the historic Trentino race also highlighted its partnership with Dolomiti Energia, which is supporting the 3Tre Organising Committee in delivering a major event for Trentino and the alpine skiing community. The partnership promotes an event of outstanding prestige while strengthening the brand’s presence and visibility in a setting that attracts a broad audience and generates significant exposure.

“Bringing Madonna di Campiglio to Valerio Catullo Airport has a very specific meaning: this is where the final leg of the journey begins for many international visitors heading to our destination,” said Tullio Serafini, President of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board. “International visitors account for 50% of winter overnight stays in our area, and for many of them, Verona Villafranca Airport is the main point of arrival. Madonna di Campiglio has always been a destination for major events, by vocation and tradition. The Alpine Ski World Cup, which we presented today, is one of the highlights, but there is much more to come. We are preparing a winter season packed with events, including ‘Campioni in Pista’, Ducati’s gathering on the snow, which will feature the presentation of its official teams and 2027 bikes. There will also be plenty of opportunities to enjoy experiences beyond skiing, from enchanting snow-covered trails to wellness activities immersed in nature, inviting visitors to slow down and take time for themselves.”

After two editions held in January, 3Tre returns to its traditional pre-Christmas slot. The two runs on the Canalone Miramonti will start at 17:30 and 21:00 CET. The reigning champion is France’s Clément Noël, who won in January 2026.

The 3Tre on Tour continues in Rome on November 11th, followed by London on November 25th, Milan on December 3rd, and Trento on December 10th.

Tickets for the 73rd edition of 3Tre are available on the official website: www.3trecampiglio.it.
