19–21 January 1950, Paganella – Serrada di Folgaria – Monte Bondone
A glorious sunny day on Paganella provides the setting for the very first turns in 3Tre history. Fifty-seven athletes line up for the downhill, representing Italy, Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia, the USA and Turkey.
Zeno Colò dominates the race, claiming victory with a margin that belongs to another era: more than 15 seconds over Cortina’s Alverà. The following day, the 3Tre caravan moves to Serrada di Folgaria, where everything is ready for the “discesa obbligata” — the slalom.
The course has to be climbed on foot, and once again Zeno Colò emerges victorious. The grand finale of the inaugural edition takes place on Monte Bondone, although the champion from Abetone is absent, already on his way to Aspen for the World Championships.
