Downhill and giant slalom: an unusual programme for the December 1975 edition of the 3Tre. The downhill is raced on the “Pancugolo motorway”, a completely redesigned course that bears little resemblance to the heroic slopes of the recent past.
The fastest man in Madonna di Campiglio is none other than one of the fastest skiers in history: “Kaiser” Franz Klammer. The Austrian downhill legend claims victory and also takes the overall combined title.
In the giant slalom, Switzerland’s Engelhard Pargaetzi finishes ahead of compatriot Ernst Good, with Italy’s Piero Gros taking third place.
