1993 - Third Time’s the Charm

19 December 1995, Madonna di Campiglio (World Cup)

In 1995, Alberto Tomba claims his third World Cup victory on the Miramonti, at the end of a thrilling battle with Slovenia’s Jure Košir.

Once again showing his special affinity with the Madonna di Campiglio slope, Košir pushes the Italian champion all the way and remains in contention until halfway through the second run, when a heavy crash brings his hopes of victory to an abrupt end.

France’s Yves Dimier finishes second, while Italy’s Kurt Ladstätter completes the podium in third place. The two European Cup slaloms are won by Austria’s Thomas Sykora and Sweden’s Jesper Brugge.
