10 December 2001, Madonna di Campiglio (World Cup)
The 53rd edition of the 3Tre flies the Stars and Stripes. The Miramonti slalom is won by American star Bode Miller, who finishes ahead of Italy’s Giorgio Rocca and Norway’s Tom Stiansen.
The event also features a packed programme of side events. The organisers in Trentino host a meeting of the FISI Federal Council, as well as an experimental knockout-format race devised by the FIS: the “KO Super Slalom”. Once again, Bode Miller comes out on top.
At the end of the edition, further changes await the Organising Committee. After just three years, the committee in charge hands over the reins to the team behind the Snowboard World Championships held in Madonna di Campiglio the previous January.
