A spectacular 3Tre celebrates its 50th anniversary in the World Cup with a night Henrik Kristoffersen will hardly forget. After dominating the first run, the young Norwegian claims his second consecutive victory in Madonna di Campiglio — a feat previously achieved only by legends Ingemar Stenmark and Alberto Tomba.
Marcel Hirscher finishes second, forcing him to wait a little longer for his 20th World Cup slalom victory, while Italy’s Stefano Gross earns a well-deserved third place.
Gross’s podium is particularly significant for the home crowd, bringing Italy back into the top three of the Trentino classic for the first time in eleven years, since Giorgio Rocca’s victory in 2005.
