22 December 2018, Madonna di Campiglio (World Cup)
The Canalone Miramonti never fails to deliver surprises, and the 65th edition of the Trentino classic is no exception.
A crowd of 19,000 witnesses an unexpected triumph by Switzerland’s Daniel Yule, who ends — at least for another year — Henrik Kristoffersen and Marcel Hirscher’s hopes of claiming a third victory in Madonna di Campiglio. Both champions see their challenge come to an abrupt end at the third gate of the course.
Yule takes the top step of the podium ahead of two Austrians, Marco Schwarz in second and Michael Matt in third.
The Italian team also delivers a strong performance, with Giuliano Razzoli finishing fifth and Manfred Mölgg sixth.
