The 67th edition of the 3Tre takes place in an extraordinary year that has profoundly affected the entire world. Despite the absence of spectators due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Trentino classic still delivers plenty of excitement and spectacular racing for ski fans watching from afar.
After his back-to-back victories in 2015 and 2016, Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen returns to the top step of the 3Tre podium with a spectacular comeback in the second run. His third victory in Madonna di Campiglio sees him equal Alberto Tomba’s tally on the Miramonti.
Norway completes a memorable one-two, with Sebastian Foss-Solevåg finishing runner-up, just 0.33 seconds behind his compatriot.
The revelation of the night, however, is Italy’s Alex Vinatzer. The young Italian takes a major step forward in his career by claiming third place and his first 3Tre podium.
Vinatzer becomes the first Italian skier to reach the 3Tre podium since Stefano Gross, who also finished third in 2016, while Giorgio Rocca remains the last Italian to triumph in Madonna di Campiglio, back in 2005.
