Even though the winter season is now over, there’s still time for recognition for the 70th edition of 3Tre, held on December 22nd in Madonna di Campiglio and won by Marco Schwarz. 

Indeed, “3Tre Madonna di Campiglio - The Night Slalom”, the docufilm produced by the 3Tre OC and directed by Antonio Pacor on the occasion of the Italian ski classic’s 70th edition, has been selected for the prestigious Trento Film Festival, one of the most notable movie festivals in Italy and Europe. 

The news was released on Monday, April 8th in Milan, during the press conference presenting the 72nd edition of the Festival (April 26-May 5). “3Tre Madonna di Campiglio - The Night Slalom” was selected in the “Orizzonti Vicini” (Near Horizons) section, dedicated to works either by authors born or active in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, produced by studios or individuals based in the region, or focusing on people or topics related to the area.

Produced in both English and Italian languages, and premiered at the Ferrari Trento headquarters in December 2023 in a special 3Tre on Tour event, "3Tre Madonna di Campiglio - The Night Slalom" is an exciting 15-minute segment ranging from the origins of 3Tre to the modern days, through the words and memories of many of the most iconic winners and protagonists of this event: from Alberto Tomba to Giorgio Rocca, from Ingemar Stenmark to Daniel Yule, through Gustav Thoeni, Piero Gros and many others.

"The Night Slalom is a short but intense dive into the history of one of the world's most prestigious alpine ski competitions and its champions," said director Antonio Pacor. - "I have tried to bring the emotions of the great slalom racers in the history of world skiing, and their adrenaline when competing in Madonna di Campiglio, into a short documentary. It features many interviews, from Thoeni, Gros and Stenmark to Miller, Rocca, Yule, as well as spectacular footage with a very intense pace, just like descending into the crowd in such an extraordinary ski race."

Two showings of "3Tre Madonna di Campiglio - The Night Slalom" are scheduled as part of the Trento Film Festival: Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at Cinema Modena 2, and Monday, April 29 at 3 p.m. at Cinema Modena 1.
