2025-2026 - Noël at Last!

7 January 2026, Madonna di Campiglio (World Cup)

Four years after the bitter mistake at the final gate that cost him victory in Madonna di Campiglio, Clément Noël finally gets his revenge. On Wednesday, 7 January, the reigning Olympic champion claims the 72nd edition of the 3Tre with the confidence of a skier who has won almost everything in slalom, yet continues to chase new triumphs.

Thirty-four years after Patrice Bianchi’s victory, France returns to the top step of the podium in what proves to be the most thrilling slalom of the World Cup season so far — a breathtaking race with eight athletes separated by just half a second.

Behind Noël, who produces a textbook second run on an icy Canalone Miramonti, two of the season’s emerging slalom stars confirm their impressive form. Finland’s Eduard Hallberg (+0.12), the leader after the first run, earns his second podium of the season after his breakthrough result on home snow in Levi.

France’s Paco Rassat (+0.37), already a winner in Gurgl and increasingly at home among the leading names in the discipline, delivers a remarkable comeback of his own, climbing from 16th after the first run to third place overall.
