Curtains up: Oslo Opera House welcomes the 3Tre Madonna di Campiglio Night Race

When the doors of a great theatre open, the atmosphere shifts and anticipation grows. On Thursday, November 27th, the curtain at the Oslo Opera House will rise on the 3Tre Night Slalom, scheduled for January 7th, 2026, in Madonna di Campiglio. Also featured is the Kvitfjell/Hafjell (Lillehammer) stop of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Finals, set for March, when the men’s and women’s Crystal Globes will be awarded.

Set against the Oslo fjord, the Opera House will host two of the most eagerly awaited FIS World Cup events of the season. This will be more than a presentation; it will be a moment where two skiing cultures meet and recognize themselves in a shared passion. Over the past decade, Norwegian athletes have often excelled on the Canalone Miramonti slope, claiming four victories: three by Henrik Kristoffersen (2015, 2016, 2020) and one by Sebastian Foss-Solevåg (2021).

Foss-Solevåg will be one of the special guests at the historic first Norwegian event in the 3Tre on Tour, alongside Ole Christian Furuseth, winner in Madonna di Campiglio in 1990, and Kjetil André Aamodt, the most decorated skier in Winter Olympic history.

They will be joined by Italy’s Ambassador to Oslo, Stefano Nicoletti, Ole Kristian Kirkerud, head of the Kvitfjell/Hafjell FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Finals Organizing Committee, Claus Ryste, head of Alpine Skiing at the Norwegian Ski Federation, and the Italian delegation led by 3Tre President Lorenzo Conci, Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board President Tullio Serafini, and Tito Giovannini from the Milan–Cortina Foundation.

Videos, testimonials and contributions from the International Ski Federation (FIS) will enrich an event dedicated to showcasing major ski competitions as drivers of innovation, tourism and sports culture.

“Bringing the 3Tre to the heart of Oslo is a historic step in our journey toward greater international reach. Norway is a country where skiing holds extraordinary cultural significance, and meeting here helps build a bridge between traditions that share the same passion for competition and innovation,” said 3Tre President Lorenzo Conci.

“The 3Tre is an iconic race, but above all it is a shared heritage. We are proud to present it in such a symbolic venue as the Oslo Opera House, alongside champions who have made history on the Canalone Miramonti and have long found Trentino an ideal place for both summer and winter training. This dialog with the Norwegian skiing community enriches us and prepares us for the 72nd edition of Italy’s longest-running alpine skiing classic.”
