Fifty days to 3Tre: Milan rekindles the Madonna's night race flame

When Madonna di Campiglio calls, Milan answers. History proves it: the two destinations are tied by a long-standing bond. The 3Tre, rich in history itself, confirms this every time it heads to the Lombardy capital, where it is welcomed with affection and enthusiasm by the many fans of the destination, skiing and the FIS World Cup.

With just 50 days to go until the January 7, 2026, event (first run at 6 PM, second run at 9 PM), the 3Tre community gathered at a unique venue: Studio 10 of Mediaset in Cologno Monzese. The presentation covered the key themes of the 72nd edition, alongside two athletes who have conquered the Canalone Miramonti — and to another one who loved it, even when success eluded him there, but still has an Olympic gold from Vancouver 2010 among his achievements.

On Monday, November 17, Ivano Edalini (winner of the 1986 3Tre), Giuliano Razzoli and Giorgio Rocca — the last Italian to win the 3Tre, 20 years ago — were the guests of the presentation. They were joined by 3Tre President Lorenzo Conci; Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board President Tullio Serafini; Pinzolo Deputy Mayor Monica Bonomini; and Funivie Campiglio GM Bruno Felicetti. They were welcomed by Mediaset journalists Alberto Brandi and Lucia Blini.

Despite the years that have passed since they last ran down the Canalone Miramonti slope, the emotion felt by the three former athletes is still palpable — a testament to the profound impression that this race leaves on those who experience it, both on and off the course.

"I raced the 3Tre in a different era, but the spirit remains the same: a race that transforms an entire village into a natural stadium. Seeing how it has evolved over the years shows just how much this event is part of Madonna di Campiglio's identity," said Ivano Edalini.

"The 3Tre slalom is unique — technical, demanding and suited to the true specialists. Coming back here means reliving an unforgettable atmosphere and remembering how much this track can transform a career, just as it did for me," said Giorgio Rocca.

"For the skiers, the 3Tre is one of the most engaging challenges of the season. The crowd, the night setting, the pressure — Madonna puts it all right in front of you, and it's that intensity which makes competing here so special," added Razzoli. "It was a race I dreamed of winning. I never did, but the warmth I felt every time on the Canalone Miramonti meant as much as a victory."

Just a few days after the London 3Tre on Tour presentation at the Kandahar Club, the Madonna Classic enjoyed another thrilling evening, continuing its journey toward upcoming stops in Oslo, Bologna and Trento.

"The 3Tre on Tour aims to showcase a territory built on hospitality and innovation," explained Tullio Serafini, president of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board. "It demonstrates that the 3Tre is a genuine bridge between the Dolomites and the rest of the world, and provides a unique opportunity to showcase the evolution of tourism in Madonna di Campiglio throughout the year."

"The strength of the 3Tre comes from a community that has made this event a collective heritage, and our meeting with Milan once again confirms how strong the connection is between Milan and our community. We are working to offer all our fans an even more powerful experience — a new page of history to remember and retell," concluded 3Tre President Lorenzo Conci.
