Madonna’s and 3Tre's glamour makes impression in Rome

In preparation of the 69th edition of the 3Tre FIS Alpine World Cup Night slalom, to be held on Thursday, December 22nd, the ski classic and the charm and style of Madonna di Campiglio were welcomed with enthusiasm in Rome.

On Thursday, November 10th, in the Laudato Sì room at the Campidoglio, Rome’s City Hall, 3Tre was welcomed with full honors by the Councilor for Sport, Tourism, Fashion and Major Events of the Municipality of Rome, Alessandro Onorato. “Rome is working to reassume a central role in the major events’ scenario. Having Madonna di Campiglio’s World Cup event visiting us creates an encounter between different realities with a common vision of tourism,” the Councilor said in his greeting.

The meeting in the name of class and passion was patroned in style by a remarkable personality of fashion, Anna Fendi. "I am a lover of beauty, and this event is all about beauty - explained Anna Fendi -. Madonna di Campiglio is a precious gem that I naturally associate with Rome, my city. That's why I believe that this connection can be strengthened more and more in the name of skiing, a sport that conveys a profound sense of freedom and discipline”.

With such a prestigious vernissage, the Dolomites’ resort has sparked expectations for the start of the new skiing season, due to start in Madonna on Saturday, November 19th, with the opening of the lifts in the Grosté area.

Having recently joined the "Altagamma" Foundation, the "pearl of the Dolomites" nurtures justified ambitions for the new winter season. "The 3Tre promotional tour has been going on for a decade now, and allows us to tell the story of the event and the amazing venue where it takes place, enhancing the quality that our operators are able to express - explained the President of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourist Board, Tullio Serafini -. We are in Rome thanks to the strong connection with this city and the many friends from here who love our destination.”

Presenting the great ski event in Campiglio was the President of the 3Tre Committee, Lorenzo Conci, together with two winners of the Trentino’s slalom, Ivano Edalini, first in 1986, and Giorgio Rocca, the last Italian to conquer the Canalone Miramonti in 2005. "We look forward to be able to embrace the public without restrictions again, and that’s what motivates us even more to meeting the fans during this tour”, argued Lorenzo Conci.

"For me, 3Tre represents the main event of the season, in the hope that an Italian athlete will finally win it again. 17 years have passed since my success on the Canalone Miramonti, too many: whatever the outcome, this event delivers an amazing experience, and this is the spirit of the promotional tour in which I still carry with me the enthusiasm of that victory, unchanged in spite of all the time that has passed”, underlined Giorgio Rocca.

As in the other stages of the 3Tre on Tour, the historian of the Campiglio slalom, Paolo Luconi Bisti, guided public along the history of the event through images and video contributions. Making its appearance in Rome was also the “Crystal Globe”, the trophy that belongs to the winner of the World Cup, a constant presence in the 3Tre on Tour stages.

On Tuesday November 22nd (7:00 pm), 3Tre will be in Milan for another “glamour” event at Casa Gessi, a prestigious multipurpose space located in the fashion district. The "3Tre on Tour" is coordinated by the Madonna di Campiglio Tourist Board along with the 3Tre Committee.

Online tickets sales for the event of December 22nd (first run: 5.45 pm, second run: 8.45 pm) are open on official website 3trecampiglio.it.
