“I want to conquer Madonna di Campiglio for a fourth time”. In anticipation of the 70th 3Tre Night Slalom, Henrik Kristoffersen sends a clear message to his rivals and to the three-time winners on the Canalone Miramonti slope, Italian Alberto Tomba and Swiss Daniel Yule. On December 22nd, the Norwegian will challenge Yule himself and a list of top contenders, hoping to make history by achieving the second-most wins all-time in the Italian slalom.

Leader of this prestigious ranking is Swedish legend Ingemar Stenmark, whose 5 wins represent the real target for the top names of the rapid gates.

"I adore this race and night races in general. The enthusiastic crowd and the festive pre-Christmas ambiance in Madonna di Campiglio make 3Tre one of my favorites," Kristoffersen said, reflecting on the unique environment that the night race offers. The Norwegian won in Madonna in the 2015, 2016 and 2020 editions.

On his part, the bond between Yule and the Canalone Miramonti slope is unique and profound. After a surprising first win in 2017, two more have followed in 2018 and 2022. "There's something magical about this place that just clicks with me," Yule remarked in a recent interview. “Explaining my success in Madonna di Campiglio is challenging. The slope is difficult, with each turn being unique, which perhaps suits my racing style”. Yule's remarkable record in this race is a testament to his ability to navigate the intricacies of the Canalone Miramonti with unparalleled skill.

In addition to Yule and Kristoffersen, a long list of contenders is showing off in the early World Cup events, starting from the winner of the first World Cup slalom of the 2023/24 season in Gurgl, Austrian Manuel Feller. Beside them, Frenchman Clément Noël, Italian Alex Vinatzer and more athletes from Switzerland and Norway, like Ramon Zenhaeusern, Loïc Meillard, Alexander Steen Olsen and Atle Lie McGrath, boast high hopes for the 3Tre slalom, together with a former winner on the Canalone Miramonti slope, Sebastian Foss-Solevåg.

The 3Tre program features for the eve’s day, on Thursday, December 21st, music and entertainment in Sissi Square, starting from 17.00 CET, followed by the traditional public bib draw at 18.30 CET and the Meet&Greet with the UYN athletes in Brenta Alta Square.

On Friday, December 22nd, the 70th 3Tre starts at 17.45 CET with the first run, followed by the second run at 20.45 CET, and more music and entertainment in Sissi Square.
