Ski legends to show up for 3Tre’s 70th anniversary

3Tre and Madonna di Campiglio uniquely mix sports and glamour, offering a major event that extends well beyond the Night Slalom of Friday, December 22nd. While today's champions will star in a nighttime spectacle over two runs on the Canalone Miramonti (17:45 and 20:45 CET), the legends of the past are set to contribute to the 3Tre magic, especially for an important anniversary like this. These ski legends will find themselves at the exclusive Champions’ Dinner organized by the 3Tre Committee on the evening of tomorrow, December 21st.

When champions such as Alberto Tomba and Marc Girardelli return to Madonna di Campiglio, the highlight reels begin to play. These great rivals from the 80s and 90s, with Tomba (a three-time winner in Madonna in 1987, 1988, and 1995) and Girardelli (winner of the 1984 3Tre Super-G), did not want to miss the 70th anniversary of the Italian classic. They will be joined by protagonists of the 90s like Jure Kosir (winner in 1993), Thomas Sykora (winner in 1996), and downhill specialist Kristian Ghedina.

Looking further back, Slovenian Bojan Krizaj, winner in 1984, joins the 70th 3Tre, along with two protagonists of the 3Tre on Tour, the promotional tour of 3Tre Campiglio: Piero Gros (winner in 1972 and 1974) and Ivano Edalini (1986).

The stars of the early 2000s will also be present: from the last Italian winner on the Canalone Miramonti slope, Giorgio Rocca (2005), to his rivals, Austria’s Mario Matt (winner in 2000) and Benni Raich, and Manfred Moelgg.

Also, some remarkable women are expected in Madonna: home athlete Laura Pirovano will be joined by two former athletes and current Eurosport's lead ski analysts, two-time Olympic Champion and 2013 FIS World Cup winner Tina Maze and Francesca Marsaglia.
